Meesho Senior Data Scientist (DS-focused) Interview Guide

Companion guide to the Meesho MLE post — focused on the DS / analytics-leaning track. Senior DS roles at Meesho cover supply growth analytics, seller health, marketplace causal inference, experimentation. This guide covers the DS-flavoured loop.

Companion to the Meesho MLE interview guide. The DS-flavoured track at Meesho focuses on supply growth (seller acquisition + retention), marketplace causal inference, experimentation infrastructure, and product analytics. Less heavy on production engineering, more on causal rigour and experimentation depth.

The loop structure (Senior DS)

Standard loop: recruiter screen → analytics case + SQL → causal inference / stats depth → product judgment → behavioural.

What Senior DS at Meesho weights distinctively

1. Causal inference depth. Switchback, DiD, RDD, IV. 2. Marketplace metric design. Two-sided metrics, supply health, demand health. 3. Experimentation under SUTVA. Network effects in seller/buyer experiments. 4. Product judgment. Drive PM decisions through data.

Top 10 questions

1. "Switchback experiment for a marketplace ranking change — design." 2. "Seller retention causal driver analysis." 3. "DiD: a feature launched in one geo — measure the effect." 4. "Power analysis for an A/B test under SUTVA." 5. "Metric design: north star for the seller side." 6. "Uplift modeling for seller incentives." 7. "Causal forest — when useful?" 8. "Diagnose: seller GMV dropped 8% in Tier-2 cities. Causal investigation." 9. "Walk through your most impactful project." 10. "Why Meesho?"
